Our aim of Lakuna is to explore new territories in creativity and share it with a wider audience. Natural creativity has been recognised and rewarded in Sri Lanka from early history. Indeed, her kings and queens, the traditional patron of the arts, bestowed upon designers grants of state land and other privileges.
Although creativity was associated with royal and religious art, the utilitarian designs of the common person were also creative. Many Sri Lankans still possess traditional creative skills and continue to turn out objects of utility and aesthetic delight using ordinery materials and concept.
